I know this guy is trolling but....
I think very few people have a clue what folks in the military do. Many just think we all just go to the range and shoot all day or other soldiering activities. Most of the time our job is very boring and can be very repetitive in a larger sense while day to day is not repetitive at all and sometimes haphazard.
I also know a lot of folks who came in the army with degrees both officer and enlisted. I know even more who got degrees while in the service, sometimes 2 or 3 degrees (mostly online).
Also, most undergrad degrees serve no other purpose but to make a university more $$$ I've seen countless folks with degrees in history, biology, or sociology/psychology not doing anything with their degrees. I saw many folks with these degrees while I was a trainer as either fellow trainers or call center employees.
I know the norm here is to poo poo on anyone not making 6 figures for a lack of trying but someone has to work at these fast food places, someone has to be a shift manager, and if you raise the worker's pay then you have to raise the shift manager's pay. If you do this then the guy working in the office building across the street is making less than the shift manager at mcdonalds so then his wage is raised..and so on and so on until the cost of labor across every industry skyrockets.
I do believe someone at mcdonalds should be paid a living wage. If you work 40 hrs a week, I don't care what job you have you should be able to find a place to live. If not then the fault either lies with the lack of a living wage or the lack of affordable housing.
