I'd like to run a 5 km all out test (maybe as a Parkrun "race") on Saturday.
But Saturday is also my long run day and I have 18 km planned for next Saturday.
Does it make sense to combine the two? 3 km warmup plus 5 km test/"race" plus 10 km easy cool down? Or would it be too much a stress for leg muscles and such?
Background: cyclist with almost no running in the last few years, I am in the fourth week, and first recovery week, of a 20 week HM training plan, freely based on Brad Hudson's "Run Faster from the 5K to the Marathon".
