Well I'm battling patella tendonitis right now, so I feel your pain of dealing with tendonitis. From what I've seen the trainers do at my college I would go with ice followed by ultrasound. Either heat or ice before you run. (Whichever makes your run more comfortable.) Then do the ice and ultrasound every other day. For cross training go with a stationary bike or if you like swimming that should work well too. I hope that helps. ~My 2 cents~
