I wouldn't do that. I ran my first half marathon in them and I was in a world of calf pain the last two miles. They are great for shorter races, up to 10k, but the problem is that the sole of the shoe is the same height throughout. It doesn't have a bigger heel than the front of the shoe. Therefore, your calves have to work harder on each stride at marathon pace. I would get something with more of a heel unless you are really light and efficient.
What if you are used to running in flats?
I run in flats all of the time and am doing my next marathon in them(NYC). I did a half last year and it hurt, but the course itself was a slight bitch. I hadn't been training in flats at that point, I now have 10 months of flats/barefoot training under my belt.
It you are used to training shoes, do not wear vapors for a marathon. If you are accustomed to flats or barefoot, (including at least couple long runs), then you should be just fine in them.
