I watched the D.C. High Heels race this week, where men in drag (mostly) race down 17th Street. The race requires two-inch heels, minimum. According to the article below, the course is 317 meters long and the course record is 42.89 seconds! Is that really possible? Most college runners would have to dig deep to run 42 seconds for 317 meters on a track, in racing flats. Running that pace in high heels seems impossible. Thoughts?
