these are workouts el guerrouj did regularly. obviously someone else isn't going to be doing them at the paces his group did, but they are manageable when done at one's own pace.

NOT a good argument. You can't compare a WR holder's peak workout to something anyone else could do, especially not a novice HS girl. They are setting WRs for a reason, they can handle work that the rest of us can't.
