I did long run, easy run and then a moderate 5 miler yesterday.
Now today, my legs are really sore, stiff and there is NO reason they should be sore. Should I skip the planned workout for tonight or see how it goes? Last time I ran through the soreness, I got injured. But I don't want to lose fitness.
There is always a reason.
Skip it. Do the workout tomorrow?

If your legs are really sore, take the day off. Not a big deal. Your body is telling you something. Don't ask your body why, just listen and act accordingly.
