I'm sure most people have seen this already, but I just came across Lauren Fleshman's "balls" interview.
This made me laugh real hard.

Oh come on- that was great. Fleshman is good for running. Her new company is great and anyone who is in the public eye helps to promote the sport.

This weekend she stood at the finish line of a large half marathon in Chicago. She was high-fiving runners as they crossed.
If the sport is going to grow at the professional level, elite runners need to take a more active role in engaging with participants.

Why? What does engaging with participants have to do with the sport growing?
"elite" is very loosely defined for her at this point in her her career just as calling her a model is a far stretch.

You really don't understand this?
The sport is struggling at the professional level. There are so many people who "participate" in running, but don't know anything about the sport at the elite/professional level. Elite involvement helps alleviate that.
It's a pretty basic concept. I feel dumb for having to spell it out.

Bump again
Wow, I forgot all about the endless variations on fierce bird flocks and so forth people would come up with on here. Haven’t heard much from Oiselle of late, hope that throng of aggressive avians is doing well.
