Maybe it's more common after the recent tendency for planes to vanish in mid-flight?

Aha the complaint- instead of taking their junk out of the overhead and walking off quickly folks stand idle in aisle while they do a "j'arrive" on the cell/
Is this correct?[

My people handle that for me.
Scenario: Flight hit some rough weather and was about 20 min late. Sister was picking me up. So as soon as I could I called to say we had just landed so that she could leave the cell phone lot to meet me at arrivals.
Tells the person about how long it might be and also if you need to pick up bags or wait on bags "plane side".
Nothing wrong with it.

Bigger issues include the insane number of people traveling on long flights with infants. Can't remember the last time I was on a flight where a baby wasn't screaming for 3-4 hours.
This is why there are earplugs. I never fly without using them.
Try "Hearos"--whatever their ones with the highest dB-reduction rating are. They really work.
As for the traveling with an infant thing... Are you serious?
We traveled with an infant. Our plane was delayed 6 hours and arrived 2 am, well past her bedtime. Is that our fault? Hers? She did cry the last 30 min. But you act like parents don't care. Ya, like I enjoy my kid crying. Perhaps we should leave her home next time or perhaps check her with the baggage? Or maybe airlines should have family flights?
I hope we sit next to you next time.

Yeah, I do. Has to do with expectations of wives and for others it might be to schedule airport pick-up. Actually quite practical of a call to make.
Because you always get one or two holding everyone up yammering, when they should be getting their carry on out of the overhead bin.
To be honest, I travel almost weekly and it is quite rare to get someone who stands still at this point. Most make their quick call before they even get out of their seat. Most disembark delays are driven by people having to retrieve their carry-ons from a row behind where they were sitting and stuff like that.

Who has people meet them at the airport anyway? Unless we are talking about children.
People who are not losers? Enjoy your filthy cab or bus packed with the smelly dregs of traveling society.
