I said at the time, vote in an African president - and he will predictably act like the typical African head of state.
Spend-spend-spend.
On the day of his inauguration, our national debt was at an all-time record high of $10 trillion.
Now, it is $17.7 trillion.
1) Obama isn't African. He's actually fully American, half black, half white, and if you must, African American. He is not "African".
2) The spend spend spend mantra is bogus. He has actually SHRUNK the federal government during his tenure. The big spending that had to occur helped to thwart the worst financial crisis in global history (according to Bernanke). A crisis and a Great Recession that started by the way under Bush. Of course Clinton handed Bush a surplus. Of course the KING of spending as a percentage of GDP is still Ronald Reagan by a LONG SHOT. The best fiscal conservatives in this country are liberal Democrats and have been since after FDR (and some would argue to include him).
3) If Obama were a Republican, conservatives would lift him up on their shoulders...the Great Recession ended under Obama, bin Laden was dispatched under Obama, the stock market has SOARED under Obama, the unemployment rate has improved almost 4 full points under Obama (got worse first but then has turned back around), auto makers saved, financial institutions saved, no more talks of nationalizing banks, and on and on. He's every bit as conservative as G.W. Bush was in every way except for perhaps Obamacare which as we know is an almost exact copy of Mitt Romney's plan in Mass; well, and Obama has turned on the gay marriage thing, but at this point, really, other than the Religious Right, who even cares about that anynmore.
You dislike Obama either because he's a Democrat or because he's black or some other non-political reason, because if you are a conservative and you dislike him, then you don't even understand your party's platform, because Obama is e very bit as conservative as just about all of them.
