Vaughn's time on their home course was 40 seconds off Torres' course record and Vaughn's course was soft and muddy in places. But frankly, I thought his "coming out party" was two years ago when he finished only 3 seconds behind Solinski for second place in 3200m at Arcadia his senior high school year.
