How can you say it's not popular when Euro 2014 was the most watched prime-time TV show in the UK with a 20% share?

Does the man not like racing? Is it not fun for Mo to get out there and race against the competition every now and then, rather than some super calculated or well paid appearance? What happened to showing up and just racing, baby?

So did he run in the 2013 World Champs

The only reasons you run any other races are:
a) To get paid
b) To get a qualifying time
c) The race is part of your training plan
d) Go for a record of some sort
You forgot
e) Because you like running and racing.
That's an amateur's reason for racing. You don't win Olympic golds with an amateur's attitude.

Seems to me that Geb and El G both really enjoyed racing, did a lot of it and still did ok at the Olympics.
I think Mo enjoys competing but has zero interest in time trialing and is more motivated by big pay days then either of those guys were.
Why did Geb go and set the hour run record? Because he likes to set records and he knew he could. Obviously he was paid something to do it, but I can't imagine it was a truly major sum. Same thing with El G and the 2000m record. And both of those guys took serious cracks at Komen's 3000m record.
I think Kenny B is almost the reverse of Mo. Kenny B clearly likes time trialing but has never seemed to enjoy the competitive aspect of racing. He's certainly won his fair share of close contests, but he's always looked happier to me when he's been by himself racing the clock.
Hey, it's Mo's life. He's doing very well for himself and that's great, but some of the choices he makes prevent me from being a fan. Oh well.
p.s. Mo certainly was the best 5000m/10000m guy from 2011-2013, but it's not clear to me that he currently is or will be come 2015 Worlds.

For which he is no doubt being paid a very large appearance fee.
It's his job fool.

$190.000
I'm a fan of Mo but people need to acknowledge, when they use the Olympics as an example of him not dodging people, that an even remotely healthy Bekele beats Mo (in a fast race, in a sprint - anything). Their marathon debuts are an example of the fact that while Mo is beyond impressive he will never be on Bekele's level.
AND - did you notice Bekele went ahead and ran even though not at full strength in the Olympics; they are both champions, but this is a sign of a the type of champion I would be, as opposed to Mo.

That's a bigger payout than I would have expected. Source?

You're right. Apologies. I'm old, I'm confused.

Bekele's the GOAT. Point conceded.
Doesn't mean that Mo shouldn't pick his races in his best interest.
I love watching the best compete but I don't begrudge the guy for making $, especially as he ages.
Guys, he's Muslim, why is everybody so surprised

I do not expect one bit for Mo Farah to run pointless track time trials. Sorry, that money does not exist for 3000s on the track anymore. It has moved to the roads. Track is dead. Weep for track.
Why do you consider time trials to be pointless? The point is to see how fast you can run or to set a new world record. Why does he even need money to do this?
I don't know enough about Mo to know about the Muslim faith part, but I more or less agree with the rest of this list with one caveat: I think Mo cares about his place in running history and doesn't fully appreciate how much of a hit he's going to take for having very few impressive times to his name. I think he's well on his way to being seen as the Miruts Yifter of his day.
In the post Euro interview Mo stated that he will try to improve on his both 5 and 10 km times
Hopefully ,people will cut him some slack once he achieve that
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
