Alright so I'm have a lot of trouble getting back into shape, I need advice. Let me give you a run down if where I'm at running wise and where I use to be at.
I am a 19 year old male, I started running when I was 14, played soccer and ran XC and track in highschool.

I graduated in 2013 and after I graduated I took it easy and just ran for fun and countieued to play soccer on a regular basis. I decided to join the Marine corps last year and started running consistently again and I did fine for a while, I ran Into some medical problems with my wrist so long story short I had surgery this year and I can sign up in November.
Around March I picked up a hip flexor injury playing travel soccer so I no longer ran at home and played soccer every week. I just played soccer till mid May, I had surgery on my wrist and they did a bone graph from my hip and I rested for about a week and a half.
I started running again and my first run back I ran 2 miles at 7:30 pace, it was tough, I figured it's just cause I've been resting so long we'll every run after that has just been such a challenge... I ran every other day, played indoor soccer till about July and the frutherst I could run was 3 miles at an 8:30 pace, and HOLYCRAP it felt like I was running a 6 minute mile pace. So I took 4 days off. And decided to start from the bottom... I started running 10 mins a day at pace I can keep a convorsation at, and I've slowly been increasing my mileage, with one rest day a week, sometimes 2. I'm on my 5 week of running consistanly,
First week I got 6 miles
Second 8
Third 10
Fourth 12
My diet has been ok, I've been trying to eat lots of color foods and drink plenty of water... I've had my doctor check me out to make sure nothing is wrong, but i just don't understand how I'm this slow, and I can hardly run 2 miles.
In April I was running fine, and now I just suck, and every run is just so hard. I've been averaging 7:50-8:15 pace for my runs. Sometimes 9:00 when I'm feel bad. I run in the mornings to cause it gets so hot in Florida.
So.... Any idea why I've got so slow? I'm trying to get back into 18 minute 5k shape by November. But at this rate idk if I can achieve that.
