He's already run 2:05:03 and wants the CR at Chicago, which right now is a measly 22 seconds slower than Kipsang's current WR
I guess he runs 2:03:18 and doesnt even break a sweat

yes.
I think he will run under 2.03.23 but it will not be the WR. I see Kipsang running sub 2.03 in Berlin. TBH, I think Kipsang could have broke the record in London.
The search functions of this site are too limited to verify it, but I am confident that Bekele already has more MF threads, i.e. Kenny MF Bekele, than anyone else in history. If he breaks the WR I will be 100% sure of it.
His debut was amazing. If you watched the Paris performance you know this guy is made for the marathon as well as he is the other distances he has conquered. I think he just may be do it.
Not if Kip is running. Kip will take him down on chip time.
yes, why is the search function so limited here?

since when does running 2:05 mean you can run 2:03low

If Bekele breaks Kipsang's world record, in Chicago this Fall, I will donate $50 to a charity to be announced. Only $50 cause it wouldn't be AS crazy as the last time I made a bold offer (Kiprop's WR attempt this summer at 1500m). I mean... honestly, it's intense that Bekele is even attempting substantially sub 2:04 (course record) at only his second attempt at the marathon. He looked very good in Paris though (watched the whole thing, along with the entirety of the London Marathon, thanks to some geniuses who posted free vid streaming live links on this forum board!!) I'll be super excited and dancing and crazy if he records an amazing time. I can't even think of creative outrageous (but legal) things to do, in the event that celebrations are called for...
If Bekele breaks the world record in the Marathon, to go along with his world records at 5K and 10K, he will have to be considered the greatest of all time. Right now, in my opinion, Gebrselassie still owns that title because of his great range and unmatched number of world records.

Is Kipsang running Berlin? I haven't seen anything saying he was...
I think that before we jump ahead of him saying he wants to break the course record, and ask will he break the WR, we have to remember how brutal Chicago can be with the heat still in October.
I'm praying it's great weather, but in the back of our minds we have to think that neither record could fall because of the heat potential.
I know Bekele is going to get more of a challenge in Chicago than Paris, but I'm kind of wishing he would've chose Berlin.

My bad, he's not running Berlin. He's doing NY.
NO.
"Doesn't even break a sweat"... Because of course sub 2:04 is so easily run...
No, too many turns
I can see him breaking 2:04 on his 2nd attempt. He's just that good. I don't know about the world record but if the weather holds up sub 2:04 is very possible.

The WR could still go down in Berlin this year, even though Kipsang's not running. Dennis Kimmetto is going for it. He hasn't looked great in his last few outings, but he does have the Chicago CR, so he wasn't too far off of it at one point.

When its one of the greatest long distance runners of all time and the owner of the IIRC 6th best marathon debut, it very well may
I'll give $100 to charity if he does it
