That's true for half the conferences in D-I.You need to look up some other conference results and Regional qualfiers from 2004.It's my understanding that the Atlantic Sun Conference has only a one year exception for the men.I agree it is doubtful if any men from the ASUN well advance onto Nationals but then again that holds true for most.I may be wrong but their are over 300 D-l schools and the vast majority of the athletes are not what most of us consider at a D-l level regardless of the sport.You ask or state that this well mess up Regional competition due to slower races.That's funny.I would love to see a group of ACC/SEC runners in the 5000m follow some poor little dude from a ASUN school running 71-72/ sub 15 pace for 10-12 laps.Anyway,don't sweat it the addidtion of a couple of ASUN athletes is not going to diminish the competition at Regionals.My guess is that you are either a coach or an athlete from one of the ASUN schools.I mean who in the hell really cares?
