Yes, it is worth it.
You can easily pay it off by not getting coffee "out" now and then for a year or so.
And you'll make way, way better coffee drinks than you can buy. Get a good scale, and use good coffee and water.

What's wrong with Sanka?
If it lasts 10 years, why not? Of course you’ll need a good grinder, too.
Don't make the mistake of buying an expensive machine without the skills to use it. I have a friend with a $2000 wonder machine, and they can't dial in a shot to save a life. The espresso ends up under-extracted with terrible channeling.
If you haven't mastered the basics of coffee, i.e. you can't get a consistent cup out of a V60, you shouldn't be playing around in the finicky world of espresso where grind size, consistency, and extraction time matter a LOT more. Bad espresso is just really bad. If you don't want to take serious time to learn about espresso, just get something budget with a pressurized portafilter. It won't be enough for the purist espresso snob, but it will be drinkable without having to futz too much.
With that said, a La Pavoni EPC is worth every penny. Versatile, easy to maintain, and bulletproof. As long as you aren't trying to make more than 3 shots back to back, its perfect. Expect to spend as much on the grinder as you do on the espresso machine.
Golden words! We decided to renew our $100 Cuisinart to the automatic or super-automatic espresso machine. So our pick is Breville Oracle from this review - . Only one thing I want to say - fresh water, good-quality beans, and your skills matters more. So it doesn't worth.
