I've got two kids. The older one doesn't like to run much although she likes soccer. The younger one also likes soccer, but he LOVES to run. When we go outside to play, he just wants to run on the sidewalk up and down the street. He knows I run, and he's seen me run in some races, so he could be just doing this to please me, but I don't talk up running or anything as I want them to find their own way to things they like. He's just 4, but he already outlasts kids twice his age in games of tag, he's easily the fastest 4-year-old I've seen (and I see a lot as we go to a lot of soccer games), and he seems to love it big time.
Questions for you all.
1) So, in my case, would you go out of your way to encourage the running (make a POINT to do so) or would you leave it alone and let it develop as it would?
2) At what age would you get a kid with interest in running some running shoes and take him for a short distance run?
