Just curious:
In 2012/13, He was top American NCAA cross and in 5000 on the track. I hope he has a professional contract. It's a shame we don't support our post collegiates.

Yes, he signed a contract with Saucony on 6/19 (according to his Twitter).
He works at a running store here in Madison. I see him at the Union drinking beer all the time. Is he running I'm not sure?
"Singing a contract" definitely means gear only.
Is Reed Connor still training in the area as well?
I am fairly certain Maverick got offered a solid contract but turned it down because he thought he was worth more money.
Well clearly he's not. I can't recall seeing is name on any recent results or the track or roads.

Maverick has NEVER qualified for USATF Championships and is training alone in Madison with a coach who only knows and cares about the Badger program. I am sure he didn't get offered a a real contract and certainly can guarantee he didn't turn down anything.
Do people on this board realize there aren't more than 10 distance runners per event who actually get offered a stipend contract?
Well a bad contract and little coaching is still better than herpes.

This is what happens when you have a joke of a club system. Because everything is about the NCAA, so once your eligibility is up you might as well quit the sport, unless you are one of the very few who can get a NOP contract (or something similar).
If America invested even a token into club support - I saw the results of the club championships recently (pathetic)- then more athletes could stay in the sport to develop between the years 22-25. Either that or make sure the NCAA coaching (no certification to my knowledge is required from anyone) is good enough that more athletes are at a higher level immediately upon graduation. Maybe then there would be more than a handful (if that) of runners ready to run 2h10, which is no longer very good, but at least get to that level before thinking 2h07 or faster. My god even Canadians have people flirting with that level, and their development system is even worse (one school/club program dominates).
Or what happens when you go to the usual BCS NCAA SCHOOL THAT WHORES YOU ALL AROUND FOR CONFERENCE TITLES AS OPPOSED TO DEVELOPING YOU TOWARDS BECOMING AN OLYMPIAN?
Was just at a camp in Madison.
Maverick is sponsored by saucony
Reed connor is sponsored by Adidas I think
Elliott Krause by mizuno I think
Apparently mo Ahmed is going to oregon for pro, not NOP because he's afraid of doping. I think OTC or bowerman

Ben True, Sam Chelenga are training with Maverick Darling in Hanover, New Hampshire
No, Maverick got offered a contract by team but turned it down for more money. Later he asked for the contract offer again but it was too late and that team and company moved on.He's a product of poor guidance and should be supported right now.

This is true.
Made a great move by Flynn representation, but Flynn only got him a bonus structure with Saucony that is pretty tough. No idea how he is paying rent, food, etc. Should've gopne with Brooks; I agree Mick isn't concerned about professionals. His focus is on getting women's program out of dumps and developing a very young men's group.
According to Will Leer, Maverick Darling has joined a training group with Leer and Nick Willis coached by former Michigan coach Ron Warhurst.
