I'm running a downhill marathon in the fall. I'm worried that it starts at altitude (I'm a flatlander). My buddy who is running it too says that the altitude doesn't matter because we will be running downhill and if you are running downhill the things that affect you at altitude won't matter.
Is this true? Is a difference in running at altitude downhill compared to running at altitude on a flat course (aside that you are going down)?
