Thought I'd actually give marathon training a serious shot. Running London in 2015 and trying to build some serious base.
On average for the last 8 weeks I've done 100mpw. Or more accurately 98mpw, with the majority of weeks a little over 100 and my biggest at 110. Before that my training was pretty sporadic with some 60 mile weeks, but a lot of 20 mile weeks. I did a 100 mile week about two years ago on a lark when I was running 55mpw regularly at the time.
I feel fine, just a little tired occasionally. I usually take a day off per week, run doubles, etc. Average pace is probably a 7:45. Some of the shorter 5 mile runs I'll do 6:30s and some of the 20 mile runs in good weather will be in the low 7 minute range.
I can definitely keep going, focusing highly on eating healthy, getting lots of sleep, ice and active stretching after all runs along with sitting on the couch with a beer and putting my feet up for a half hour post-run.
Should I take it down a notch for a week or two to assess my progress so far, or just keep going?
