What do you do in between reps?
You should have a strong background of doing progressive strides and accelerations through a range of speeds over the previous few months before you do flying 30s. You should be fully warmed-up, and your first few 30s should not be 100%. You should do them on a warm-ish day, with the wind if any. You should take several minutes of walking recovery. The run-up to the flying 30 should be a gradual acceleration, not a sudden burst of speed.
