This is a breakthrough - that would have been 6th in the world in 2013.
I think that half marathon training has really worked for Huddle - I hope she can hold it through the year and maybe set the AR in the 10k (30:22 - Shalane)
Huddle would have been 9th in the 5000 at PJ...and then kept going for another 5000. Pretty remarkable.
You realize she's the American record holder at 5000m... so running within 18 seconds of the record at 10,000m is a great race but not what I'd call a "breakthrough."
Wouldn't that be a 30:40? Did she spot the field 7 seconds off the line?

Hasay should get to that level soon - If a Radcliffe can run 15.00 back to back, then Hasay under Salazar can do so as well. People simply have to be patient (not a known quantity on this site) - it took a few years for Rupp to become the best in the world as well (he just lets Mo Farah win out of friendship). 31.39 is a great time for an age-group Junior (she is still 19yo isn't she?)- when she can extend that time to the whole marathon distance (2h13), then Radcliffe's record will go down.

If nothing else, it should be a wakeup call for both of them.

She disappeared into a crowd of bystanders for 7 seconds, which unfortunately were missed by TV coverage.

The point of this is to stop giving full praise to the females who are running 15:30-15:40 unless they are very young

well considering she hasn't been running anywhere near 14:44 for a few years this was a breakthrough. or just say it is a great regaining of form after a couple blah years.

This was a breakthrough at 10k. But 14:44 is superior to this performance. However, that 14:44 was in a very fast European race, I believe. If she can get one of those when she is peaking in July or August, maybe she will take down Flanagan's 10k record as well. Right now she's got to drop 1 second per lap to tie.
