Macho man,
Snap into a Slim-Jim, you are totally right. It was Johnny, not Joey (or Jeffrey Hyman), of whom I should have said. My bad, thanks for catching it.

yellowcard, linkin park, simple plan, elephant man, all-american punk shit, dashboard, avril lavigne, I could keep on and on. How do these pieces of shit get record deals and get there product placed. I am sick of shitty radio playlist of 50 songs on heavy rotation. The Radio/Record industry is shitty. There are great bands that will never be heard because of the hold a few people have. I don't want the radio making my music decisions.
Well, there's that band your mom was in. Well, maybe it was just your mom who sucked, and boy did she ever.
Dead Kennedys = good
Whoever provided Aerosmith with a contract must have had a pretty sharp sense of humor.
Good Punk: alphabetically....just a few

THE BANGLES
Bruce Springsteen and his roller rink cacophonies and his hairplugs.
Green Day and the bobbleheaded lead singer born with out shoulders or is that OJ's head on a jockey's body, and their introspective and yet quite controversial political statements. Very dangerous indeed= Mall Punk,(Don't forget your piercing and Mom will pick you up at 8:30).
Seminal punk bands that nobody's mentioned, but I bet all of the the modern day "punk" bands would site as major influences:
Wire, namely 1977's "Pink Flag"
Minutemen, "Double Nickels on the Dime."
Get with the program people
I'm not going to bitch too much about the popular stuff today. The good stuff is always out there if you want to look. What these "punk" guys today that all look and sound alike are just the same thing as the popular stuff back when I was in college, metal-pop bands like Warrant, Poison, Cinderella, Ratt, and so on.
This has been going on ever since the early days of the Beatles. You get one great band in a different style that hits it big and for the next 5 years you get hundreds of copycats that suck.
But what's the deal with these current bands and why do they sing in the same goddam fake british accent? Man that gets on my nerves!
I dug out some obscure stuff I listened to back in the day and got to thinking how Naked Raygun would blow all these little twerps on the Warped tour right of the stage.
Sound and vision,
Since you seem to be the know all of philosophy, lets agree to disagree on the whole punk thing. I have my feelings and you have yours. Neither of us is right, just differing points of view.
However, I do not think that running is merely an activity. I think there is a lot more substance to running than it simply being an activity. I would imagine that most runners would feel likewise.
theo epstein's band is horrible. but i'm a huge fan of dillenger escape plan. haha. wow. right now im listening to the ataris.
I for one can not stand Nickleback. I hear their songs and I cringe.
Ataris...punk? Was I in a coma? If you want punk, look into:
Bad Religion (older) All Ages is a good compilation
A.F.I (older) Answer That... Black Sails gets darker
Dead Kennedys
Descendents (older...though the new Albumns quite entertaining- Stay w/ Milo goes to College)
Circle Jerks (Group Sex)
Dead Milkmen ;)
MISFITS!!! (as usual, the older stuff ie Static Age)
the Clash (can't go wrong w/ London Calling)
Sex Pistols (Nevermind the Bollocks...)
Husker Du
Joy Division
Offspring (older, ie Smash)
Ramones (Rocket to Russia)
Black Flag (Rollins' and his raspy voice in Damaged)
NoFx
I could even go out on a limb and say Blink 182's Dude Ranch.
Some stuff I really like right now is HIM (Bam overexposed their logo, though), Dylan, White Stripes, Queens of the StoneAge, Ben Folds, OAR, Exploding Hearts, Blue Oyster Cult...

I advise all of you to go out right and buy Rhino's 4 cd box set "No Thanks: The 70's Punk Rock Rebellion". It is well worth the price for the amount of great bands it will turn you on to.

Just by having these three you win as best post of the day. Good one.
Creed by far is the worst band ever. Now they are called alter bridge or something gay like that. Also, nickel back, linkin park, stero gram, alien ant farm, and most punk shit that these pussy kids are listening to lately.
Nickelback is very very bad in a derivative way. Their popularity might be a sign of the Apocalypse. They have no merit at all.
