Did he leave in a wheelchair after he scored it, then come back in the game?
Russell, Cousy, Havlicek, and Bird were all-time greats. Pierce? He's second tier.
Don't you think we're sick of kids from L.A. like Paul Pierce. How about bragging about the rest of the USA you L.A. twerp.
Lebron has over 23,000 and hasn't turned 30 yet. He is only about half way through his career.

They played slow ball back in ancient times. None of those you mention would make the starting team of any of today's NBA teams.
Celtics had teams that averaged over 120 points a game. That's quite a bit for "slow ball"
Funny you mention Paul Pierce since Dirk Nowitzki was drafted ahead of Pierce in the same draft. Pierce is almost 2,000 pts behind Dirk and Dirk is now in the top 10 scoring all time and is the greatest Euro of all time.
But Paul Pierce is good too.
... and Pierce won 1 ring. Whoopty doo.
"PAUL PIERCE BECOMES 1 OF THE ONLY PLAYERS..."
No, he becomes "one of the few players..."--or, if you prefer, "one of only a few players...".
In English, "one of the only" is a nonsense phrase.
I don't think PP's legacy can really be measured in points. He was/is a great leader and team guy, even after he was traded from the C's he still loves that team. I don't know the game winners PP has in his career, but he's one of the most clutch players in recent memory.
He's also probably the most unathletic SF playing right now, so you have to factor that into the equation as well.

Seriously, what a garbage game it has become, travelling on every play...
This^^^. The travels add nothing to the NBA game. It's horseshit and the league could stop it in a week, if they wanted to.

We already had a huge debate on letsrun about "was Bird the greatest ever?" But I will say this: if Bird, Russell, Havlichek (not sure about Cousy) were brought back to the current NBA in their prime physical shape and on the same team they would CRUSH EVERYBODY!
Paul Pierce is absolutely a top five Celtic of all time and anyone who says otherwise is simply emotional about the 80s teams. Russel and Bird are in a league of their own. Then there's a bunch of greats but Pierce MUST be top 5. This man carried this team on his back for a decade and the only other good player he had was Antoine Walker. As soon as he got all stars he won a ring.
Paul Pierce is probably the third greatest Celtic of all time. Just because he wasn't lucky enough to play alongside legends at a time when the team/sport was more popular especially in Boston should not let anyone be deluded into thinking he is not a top 5 all time Celtic. He would ANNIHILATE any Celtic except Bird/Russell in an actual game.
Paul Pierce is a mf clutch BEAST who carried a franchise on his shoulders!

That headline confused me too. It made/makes no sense.

The fact that Dirk's now #10 all-time underscores how far the NBA has fallen. Unwatchable crap.
