Hi. I'm a 18 year old girl. I started running seriously(I've been running easy three milers four or five times a week since May) in November 2013. Since then my 5k time has dropped from 23:40(xc course) to 21 min in tempo runs. I am lucky enough to be able to walk on to my university's xc team, but to travel you must be in the 19:00 range. I also do track, but sadly my division is weak and I was 40 sec ahead of the next girl in a time of 13:10 for the 3200m, but I should mention that i wasn't out of breath and I took it as a warm up for the 800m. I am currently training at about 30 mpw. And my staple workout is 10x400m at a 120-1:23 pace. How far away am I from my goal? Once I'm running with fast people and have a mileage increase can I hit my goal? Or am I just hoping for too much? Thank you.
