I have decided that am running an unattached 800m in November. I am in pretty much terrible shape right now. I can probably run 5K in just under 20 right now. I really have no idea how to train for the 8, but it has always been my favorite event from a spectator standpoint and from a competitor's standpoint as well. I have terrible footspeed and will probably finish last or second or third from last, but I am tired of doing nothing with my life and being in a constant funk. Basically, I feel like setting a goal and orking towards it in one sphere of my life (in this case running) can hopefully kickstart other aspects of my life as well.
For now, should I just build a base and try to run consistently for a month? Thanks.
