I have a thought. Perhaps Grunewald, running out of the way of nobody at the end, just threw her hands up ecstatically realizing she didn't run anyone over??? Can that be true?

Has anyone on this board ever run on a banked track?
If you come hot out of a turn, you can easily swing out wider than expected (lane 2 instead of 3). Even if you are running fast it can be hard to stay in lane 1.
And why do you think so many people were stepping "out of bounds". It isn't easy running fast and competing while maxed out on a banked indoor track.
Jordan will figure it out just like Channel is figuring it out. Exciting times ahead for these two gals!
Jordan just tweeted "first dibs on hosting the Dibaba's at my house in portland 2016". Inviting them to stay in her personal home, I assume?
using that logic, i guess hasay could have beat g. dibaba today.
hasay will be a good american runner, make many USA teams, i dont see her ever winning a global medal though.
she will have personal career best's of about
1500-4:01-4:04
3k-8:35-8:40
5k- 14:40-14:55 (yes the soft womens 5k record of 14:44 is possible.
10k-30:30-30:55
half marathon-68:30-69:15
marathon-2:22-2:25
one of the best american runners by the time her career is done, though will be overshadowed by mary cain. who will run about.
800-1:55-1:56
1500-3:53-3:55
3k-8:20-8:30
5k-14:15-14:25

there are at least 4 of them.
tirunesh dibaba
ejegayehu dibaba
genzebe dibaba
meseret dibaba (born 1996 runs with her sisters sometimes, but likes school more).
of the 4, 3 have become runners so far, how about ejegayehu an olympic silver medalist at 10000 only 3rd best out of her sisters.
throw in their aunt 2 time olympic gold medalist derartu tulu and tirunesh dibaba's husband sileshi shihine aka mr. silver and they are arguably the best distance running family ever.

Hasay's 2 Mile Time at New Balance Indoor's 1 Month ago, translates into a faster 3000 than Dibaba won with today.
I think might have actually had a shot at 3rd.
Yeah, good point. And my 14:38 5k is better than the 14:54 or whatever won US men's nationals last year, so I think I would have made the World Championships team.

Some people on here really don't understand track and field.

Hasay had 3rd wrapped up. Deal with it, the USA just threw away a medal to appease the cry babies on Letsrun and other crybabies who can't handle following the rules and DQ'ing people when they interfere.
On the world stage, Hasay is just entering puberty.
I agree with the earlier poster, that is Hasay probably would have and should have received a 5th or 6th place had she ran. Hopefully Hasay and grunewald have bright running futures. Good luck to both girls.
Jordan Hasay got screwed big time over this deal. USATF and Nike owe her big time, don't ya think?
Hasay is not in the league of these runners. As was stated earlier, the top three's finishes were faster than Hasay's PRs.

Little Jordan has had such a miserable life of poverty and hardship. Why isn't this girl a saint yet?
So you think she should get a head start next time, or what?
Alright, here were the finishes of the medalists in the World Indoor Champs 3000m:
Gold 2:06.0
Silver 2:08.7
Bronze 2:10.2
Here is Hasay's personal best for 800m:
2:08.85
Do you relly think she could have medalled?
Grunewald could have sure used a couple of head starts this weekend. Especially overcoming her cancer et al, you would think the IAAF would have taken care of her like the USATF did?

LOL, nice trolling.
Dibaba split the last 1.25 miles in a pace 4 seconds faster than Hasay's mile PR!!! So Jamal effectively ran Hasay's mile PR pace for the last 1.25 miles. Yeah sure Hasay would have totally gotten the bronze.
What does the winner's pace have to do with getting a bronze?
Agree. Great point. Hasay would have had a shot at the bronze!!!
Notice how Grunewald attempts to choke Dibaba after the race. You can see her go for her neck.
Either you are trolling or you don't understand math ... let me educate you.
3rd pace was only 4 seconds slower than first. First place ran a 4:23-4:24 closing mile, so 3rd place ran a 4:28 or faster (unless they gained ground on Dibaba, which they clearly did not). Hasay's mile PR is 4:28 and change. Hence there is 0% chance that Hasay could have gotten bronze in this race unless she were to set a mile PR at the end of a 3k.
Dibaba's last 1k was faster than Mary Cain ran her 1000m race for a world youth record. Jamal wasn't too far behind.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
