Barefoot runs started out around 10-15 mins at first and I did about 2-3 at 30 mins, one them was 2 days before I got the injury. Other than the barefoot running, I had just gotten my wisdom teeth out 7 days before, and because of that I took off 3 days from running. The following 4 days before my injury, I did a 30 min barefoot run, a medium 60 min run, an easy 60 min run (ran through some soreness in the area), and then a 90 min run (ran through what was now pain in the area). That last one was on august 4th. I then took off 4 days completely and then tried to run again but I realized that it was still hurt, and havent run since. I only really ran through bad pain on that last 90 min run on aug. 4th.
Besides all that, I was doing barefoot drills if thats another factor to consider. But I was doing those since May so it wasn't a new addition at the time of the injury. Also there was no sudden increase in my mileage or intensity. I still want to try to transition into flats again, so this didn't totally ruin it, but now I definately want to be more cautious about it, since this injury has caused me a lot of misery. I want to strengthen my feet so that I don't get injured again. If you have some tips for me on doing this, I've put in my e-mail on my name if you'd rather e-mail it. Thanks!
