Once a Whatter?
Nick's comments are offensive to Seattle's gay/lesbian/transgendered/transitional/bi/episexual/asexual/confused community, who support men on men action with or without minor head trauma.

in other words, you were unpopular in middle school
I don't get this--people in the microscopic minority, who don't love Professional football, get criticized for being "arrogant snobs," even though they are clearly going against the grain, as evidenced by the rude and crude opinion of most Americans against those who don't unconditionally love Pro football? I enjoy the athleticism, the regional rivalries, tactics, etc. of American football, but I think the money, the egoes, the art and culture, and the amount of hype and attention given to it is way overblown. In a day and age with many pressing issues on our Society, government, institutions and social conventions, I find it shocking that the vast majority of Americans never even question for a single minute their Football fanboyism.
Also, I might add, I appreciate the heritage meanings, perhaps more so than contemporary football (things like the classic "Ice bowls," etc., and of course, football heritage stretches back quite far, farther than, for example, basketball, a sport I used to love growing up whose heritage meanings (1948 to the late 90s) I also appreciate greatly.

They're arrogant snobs because they all have to tell and brag to everyone that they're not watching the Super Bowl.
Good choice, game was boring
I learned through this thread that the super bowl happened today.
I was also reminded that many people these days go into medicine for the wrong reasons.

Not to mention that "Not For Long" applies to most track athletes as well
My thoughts exactly.

I was trying to say that this is not the case with 100% of the contra-Supper Bowl opinions. Perhaps some of those people were offering meaningful, insightful criticism and contrarian perspectives? Yet it seems, universally, the, as I said, microscopic minority gets harshly attacked, and that is not fair. In other circumstances, such attacks against other minority groups of various affiliation and beliefs, would be held as uncool and politically incorrect.
I think that columns like the one Nick wrote are bad for the sport of running. What is the point of saying that you don't enjoy watching football? All that does is make runners look lame. I bet someone on a football forum will make a thread about that article and everyone else on the forum will comment that runners are jealous, unathletic prudes.
I didn't know it was Super Bowl today.

No one on a football forum knows who Nick Symmonds is, or cares about running. The sport is literally just running in circles.
I did not watch the Superbowl. I visited the mall and then went to Barnes and Noble and surprisingly there were lots of people at these venues. It probably had to do with the fact that I was on the East Coast and both teams were from the west and thus of little interest locally

When they get 30, they will still be obese slobs on welfare, whereas I will have an intellectually fulfilling career and make 200k+ for the next 35 years.
Hahaha. You don't know a whole lot about the state of the US Healthcare system, do you? Those days are over.

I want to be this guy's friend.
Who cares what he does?
