Hello, My track team only does like 20 miles a week during the 5 days and then I throw in my own 10 mile long run and like a 7 mile run on Saturday. I am a junior in HS. Starting on May 1st, I want to start training for cross country as that will be 2 weeks after my season ends. If I continue doing what I am doing, I will never get enough mileage in for my training for cross country plan. I have to keep running with my track team until the end of the school year. If I run with my track team and do like 5 miles. Then I stretch and then 15 minutes later, I am home. Would it be bad to go for another run like 30 minutes after a run at practice or even an hour after practice ended??
I cant run in the mornings because I would have to get up at like 5:45 and its too dark and not enough sleep for school. DO you think I could do a run 30 min-1 hour after a run. If I could, should I do it after a 5 mile run or a speed work?? Any advice on how to fit my mileage in?
