In my local running scene there's guy who has beaten me every time we've raced and I do not like him. There are many people who I have never beaten. This individual, however, I don't like. His looks, actions, demeanor everything about him reek of a car with homeless people having sex in it. He is a pretentious piece of crap that deserves only to reside at the bottom of septic tank. His girlfriend btw has the appearance of someone that f*@$ mailboxes.
During the last several weeks I have found that the rationale for my training has gone from dropping times to beating this person. Is this a healthy, short term, long term rational for training?
