I am coaching a precocious 14 yr. old female. 18:00 5k. Unknown, but likely, 5:00 1600m.
I have two immediate concerns: the effect of training on her physical growth and the effect of her growth on the training.
I hear the anecdotal scuttle butt, but I am interested in reading original sources - scientific studies - dealing with this general topic. I will read any tangential topic as long as it is science based. I can decide what may or may not be relevant.
Databases - free and open to the public - have gone away. I do not have access to free stacks anymore. Anyone have something to get me started?
