Heck,no. Just as sprinters aren't runners according to many logic and brain impaired people who are posting on this thread (4 days later and still on the front page? Bet there are some people who've sobered up and would like to rescind their posts by now.), runners are not sprinters. Therefore they never can be, and by definition there is no such thing as long distance runners sprinting at the end of a race. That duck-waddling, Jagger-armed thing they do is just running, only at a cartoon cadence.
Most amusing over the last few days: that because some 6x600 thing is done at a slower pace than distance runners would do it, it is a workout that "any distance runner can do." Wonder if sprinters laugh that anybody could run a 4x100 in 10.5 each, and distance runners workouts "aren't hard" because they'd only do the same workout in 4x13.0 Nah, I don't think so either.
I hope they put this thread under the "good posts" keeper, as a reminder of what happens when universal access is granted on a message board...
