I have a hurdler this year who has switched from the 39" hurdles to the 42" hurdles. He uses his right leg as his lead leg. When he hurdles his lead goes up straight but comes towards the left side of his body making him unstable at foot plant. He also leans to his right side when clearing the hurdle.
In the beginning I thought he was leaning to the right to compensate for poor trail leg flexibility. We have worked on the flexibility of his trail leg but the lean to the right and the poor lead leg position off of the hurdle continues. Are there any hurdle coaches out there that can give me any tips on how I can fix this problem?
