Amazing (or maybe not so) how few spectators are there :(

The NYRR Dash field was light years better.

Huddle looking good here.

Wow! Really exciting to watch. Molly and Shalane side by side until the last mile. Braun leading 90% of the race and pulling away in the last mile. Fast times, tough racing. Disappointing that fewer folks watched this.

Huddle 37:50 - is that a world record? I think Huddle just climbed off her plateau - wins in the 5k in NYC in 15:27 and now this huge time and win.

I bet she breaks the US record again in the 5k next year.

mcmillan says a 37:52 is equivalent to a 15:00 5k - on the road! She could be in 5k AR shape right now.

The ARRS have the old women's record as 38:09.4 held by Lineth Chepkurui of Kenya, so I'm guessing that Huddle's time will be the record for an actual 12k race.

Perhaps there might have been some faster 12k splits in a 15k or HM race or faster mixed races somewhere.

Horrible Course

No Spectators

Ran on bike path for a couple stages

Silly hairpin turn between 5 and 6 miles

agree with report card - there was no buzz in regard to this race. Started next to a warehouse! Maybe 100 spectators at finish but very few on the course. Maybe early start affected the total number of spectators, however Dc is one of the larger running communities and no one seemed to care about this. NYRR does a way better job with all their races, more crowded, more excitement, better courses

First year. Hopefully will grow. Fast races!

I agree and hope it grows - Old Town is a great area, weather in Nov is usually very good in that area, and the races were fast

Race started next to a warehouse in a suburb at 7 am in November. It is amazing any spectators showed up. It would be hard to convince runner's mothers and spouses to show up for that setting.

Ya, I briefly thought about going but then I realized I would have to get up at 6am on a sunday. If it was a 9am start I probably would have went to watch.

I'm pretty sure with those numbers would indicate only family and friends were there to watch (okay, maybe a couple of legit fans, but you get the point).

Thought it was cool to see Braun and Pennell go 1 and 3 both from two rival schools in D2 RMAC conference. Great race for both of them
