I'm at a point right now where I have the money and the time to do something I've always wanted to: take a little altitude vacation. Can you guys help me pick a place to visit? Has to be in mainland US, or maybe Canada.
Facts about me:
--Have lived at sea level (or thereabouts) my whole life.
--Highest I've been is around 10,000 (for skiing); highest I've run is 6,000. Handled both well.
--Aesthetically, I prefer forested areas to open spaces.
--I'd rather not feel totally isolated. Yes, I want to train seriously, but I'd also like to eat well and be able to get a drink at night.
