Are you talking about these?
They've been on Eastbay for at least a month, I'd say.

Hi, no. These are Takumi Sen 1. I'm referring to Takumi 2;)
Anyhow my advice is try Adios Boost.
I would like to ask about outsole durability. Is more durable Hagio 2 or Takumi Sen 2?
George (Adidas Product Team),
Do you have an update on Takumi Sen and Ren for 2015? Boosted?
Thanks.
Booster
Both Takumi Ren and Sen will be "Boosted" for 2015. Forefoot only. Look for launch in February.

Is the release date for the tempo boost still 12/01? Looking forward to these shoes

Yes, that is plan. However, I sit in global HQ and some areas of the world may choose to wait until January...

Suggested is $120...
APT, this is a really useful thread. I\'ve only just come across the Sen. What will the main differences be between the Adios Boost 2 and the Sen 2?
Edlovespie -
Adios Boost 2:
- 230 grams/8.1 ounces
- stack height (outsole rubber, midsole, sockliner...Or, how much material is between your foot and ground): 27/17 - 10 mm offset
- full length Boost
- probably more for longer efforts/races
Takumi Sen 3
- 175 grams/6.1 ounces
- stack height: 22.5/16.5 - 6 mm offset
- forefoot only Boost
- due to weight, placement of Boost, likely a better 5k/10k flat
I train 100% in racing flat-type shoes, and Adizero Pro were my favourite shoe for longer than any other shoe I've ever used. The closest I found to it was actually prior to the Pro; it was the NB rc series from the early 2000s (rc230, rc240) but they are long gone. But nothing was superior to the Pro for me.
I recently bought the Boost 2.0. If these are the shoes being referred to as a replacement for the Pro, I can tell you that although they are good shoes, they don't feel like the Pro to me. At all. The toebox is narrower, and the ride is a bit stiffer. They are a little heavier (not that that matters to me, but it probably makes a difference in feel).
The Takumi Sen 3 are something I've never seen or heard of, but I live in Canada, and often some models never make it up here. I just looked at them online and they appear visually to be much closer to the Pro than the Boost 2.0. I might try to locate a pair as I am liking the Boost, but not loving them.
it seems like the boston and the tempo lines have switched -
the Bostons USED to be midweight training shoes and the Tempos USED to be lighter weight almost racing shoes.
But now that seems reversed - the Boston is the lighter, faster shoe and the Tempo is heavier and more solid.
Is that accurate, adidas guy?
Weird for a company to switch things around like that. They should have just called the Boston Boost the Tempo Boost.

No, this is not the case. Now keep in mind that the name 'Boston' has been in the adidas arsenal for several decades off an on. So below about Boston only relates to when we used the name on adizero.
Boston has always been the lightweight neutral adizero model; Tempo has always been the lightweight mildly stable adizero model. This has not changed since adding Boost in both. As for weight differences, Boston is currently 250 grams (8.8 ounces) in size US9; Tempo is 265 grams (9.3 ounces). The weight difference of course is due to more supportive elements on Tempo. We envision these models to be supplemental and/or racing, depending on the individual's needs. We then surround these 2 more versatile shoes (trainers for some, racers for others) with Adios, Ace, Takumi Ren & Sen.
Hope this helps.
APT,
I mentioned on another thread that no reply from you, apologies have just seen the response above. Thanks. Have also just seen pics of Sen 3 Boost on a UK retailer website. They say ETA end Jan 15.

Look A1.
George can you give an idea of any other Sen colours and same from Ren 3? Also can we expect same minimal boost midsole for Ren?
Thanks as ever. Keep boosting.

That shoe looks freakin sweet. Can't wait for it to come out so I can buy like 10 of them.
Boston Runnah,
Totally agree. Adi look to have done an excellent job here with the 'modern/retro' look. But I note George's comments above re possibly being more suitable for 5/10k given the weight, relative lack of cushioning and positioning of the boost material.
I run 3-4 1/2 mar's a week so anticipate Ren 3 Boost being the better option for me. My guess is that the 15 Q1 model will be night flash/solar red (like Adios) or Semi Solar Yellow?

well I recognize that I am being an obstinate shoehead, but ...
The main facts are these:
last iterations:
the adizero boston 3 weighed: 9.7 oz.
the tempo 6 weighed: 8.3 oz
so in the last iterations, the tempo was much lighter than the boston.
http://www.runnersworld.com/shoe/adidas-adizero-boston-3-menshttp://www.runnersworld.com/shoe/adidas-adizero-tempo-6-6-mensin the current iterations:
boston boost weighs: 8.8 oz
tempo boost weighs 9.3 oz
they've flipped, with the boston becoming much lighter than before and the tempo becoming somewhat heavier than before
I do now understand that the stability features in the tempo bring the weight up -
no idea why I am picking a fight here - I'm a huge fan of the new boost shoes - I train the boston boost and race in the adios boost - (and just set a PR in the adios) so I guess I feel I have a large personal stake in what Adidas is doing.

I don't mind you challenging me at all. The weight discrepancy on current Tempo 6 (EVA) vs. Boston 3 (EVA) was due entirely to the Formotion unit in heel of Boston; we had removed on Tempo already, so it reduced a lot of weight. The Boston 3 wasn't going to get an update until we added Boost, so it was simply a cadence of update thing. Sorry, I was focusing on how we brief and construct the two shoes rather than the weight. Hope this helps.
To the question about colors, we put out 2-3 color each of Ren (men's and women's) and Sen (unisex sizing) but each of our "markets" (regions of the world) choose how many they want to offer. The Ren will also have forefoot only Boost. Again, we envision that with these 2 models that the propulsion properties of Boost make the most sense. We hope you agree...
