I love Hartmann. The guy is what top 5 every year in Boston with no sponsors. But what I love about him is he's honest with himself. He gets 4th by maxizimizing what he's got each time out, not running like an idiot for 13.1 and then fading.
He also though knows where he stands. How about this from a recent podcast:
