THE SCORE WAS 0-0 AT ONE POINT IN THE GAME. WOULD YOU GO TO SEE SOME1 RUN A WORLD RECORD VERSUS AVERAGE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES? SAME SHIT.

I am not a big 'pay the kids' person. If you pay college players, what do you have?
Minor league sports.
Minor league sports people don't make anything close on average to what NCAA kids on full rides get paid. A scholarship, room and board is easily worth $50,000 a year if you factor in taxes.
Most NCAA athletes couldn't come in and make close to that if the free market ruled. So yes, it's a bit of socialism. The big stars subsidies the little players and little schools and little sport (Track, soccer, etc). Nothing wrong with that. The biggest stars will be in the NFL and get paid.
Minor league baseball players make squat:
As for Canada, the average salary is 80,000 but they only have 40 players per team and " the simple average is around $82,000. However, most first year players and special teams players are earning $35,000-60,000. Top end QB's like Calvillo and Burris would be earning around $400,000-500,000 per year."

The problem with football and basketball is that the NFL and NBA are in collusion with the NCAA making them the defacto minor leagues.
The point you are missing is that most of the elite athletes could not care less about the "education" they are getting and most see it as a detriment that takes time away from making themselves better ball players.
Baseball is the only sport that gets it right. You have to choose between minor leagues or college out of high school BUT if you choose college, you have to stay 3 years. There is NO CHOICE in basketball or football for these kids and both sports even restrict their opportunity essentially forcing them into college.

Well Rojo, I suppose if you apply the same logic to running, do you plan on asking fans why they bother wathing any event in which there is a clear favorite?
I watched Haile G run his entire career. I knew he'd win every time, and usually it wasn't close.
I watched anyway.
Yes, but there is a difference between watching Haile dominate world class competition, and watching Haile dominate the local studs at a Turkey Trot, which is what that creampuff game amounted to.
First off, Ohio state was supposed to play Vandy, vandy backed out at the last minute before schedules were released and had to pay OSU a 1 million dollar fine for cancelling the game. The only Team Ohio State could find that wasnt booked for this week was FLorida A and M and they payed them 900,000 dollars to come to Columbus for this game, which is more than they make playing the whole season down there.
now to answer your question ROJO, Yes it was a packed house with at least another 100,000 outside the stadium tailgaiting. That is the Buckeye culture, it was a pleasant fall day and everyone is on board with the Urban Express. Not to mention Columbus has been starving for some football lately
Those who think that it wasnt worth it to go to a game like OSU vs. FAMU, For Those who went, they got to witness an OSU Football record broken as Kenny Guiton passed for 6 Touchdowns in the first half.
Geez, doesn't anyone understand college football? The priorities go like this:
1. being able to get pics of ourselves on Facebook at our teams game so we can say we went
2. drinking beer from breakfist til the game
3. tailgating with college friends
4. drinking beer and tailgating from after the game til bedtime IF they win (playing FAMU helps ensure that they win)
5. cheering on good plays during the game, usually while drunk (again playing FAMU helps this)
6. watching a good, competitive game
7. etc...
As you can see, without priority # 6, we're still in business.
