No harassment, and definitely no name calling. Just disagreement about the market. I'm sure others have their opinion.
You have twisted my posts day one.

If you recall 2011 was Greece and the US Government shut-down. So no I don’t think so. In my view today you have tightening financial conditions, peak debt, falling demand, and of course extended valuations on a variety of asset classes. Last thing to crack would be confidence, so to early to say for sure. It does look to me like the market peaked September, if so confidence will crack soon.

That's great. Good for you!
Do you ever miss work (the sense of fulfillment or purpose)?
I wonder how much of his great financial planning is a government pension.
Between the wife and I, we have one government pension to look forward to, but it's not why our financial planning has done as well as it has.

I can understand you feeling that way. I wouldn't want to take credit for some of your post either.

Igy - Any proof for your claim regarding mellon? I mean without me trying to go back over years of this thread.
You have definitely been harassed over the years, but I don’t recall it being mellon.
At any rate, it’s a shame this thread has been ruined for years by all the pettiness. Some of you guys are interesting. Most are worthless trolls.

I was referring specifically to ECRI.

mellon, you are part of the same baloney. Just like this post “I can understand you feeling that way.” Petty attempts at mind games. Do your thing, it is always the same. You really have nothing else to say.

I was referring to the poster that retired at 58 with “sound financial planning” after 30 years of employment. It sounded to me more like a government pension than sound financial planning.
yeah, I know. I just like talking about myself.
To be fair, it was pointed out that a pension is good financial planning. It’s essentially the same as a 401(k) or IRA.

That is just false. A pension is a “defined benefit program.” A 401k is a “defined contribution plan.” Study the definition in your spare trolling time.

Early on, Mellon stated why he thinks there will be no 60% drop "SOON". Actually, he went as far as to say there won't ever be a 60% drop claiming "It's different this time". I'm not sure I go as far as to agree with that. But, as of today, it hasn't happened. Not even close!

Defined benefits are also funded through contributions.
Why the nastiness?

What is it about the word “essentially” that you don’t understand?
I wonder if you know the differences?

I bro you, yet you continue to respond almost immediately.
I made a point and offered an explanation. You disagree without explanation and offer only insults.
Good night.
