what moves? Nothing happened until about 800 to go.
What happened to Pitkämäki Wigins? Where was he? Didn't see him at all with 400 to go.
He did say that. It was in the live stream being interviewed by a Euro sport dude.
But he wasnt really meaning to say that Farah's win was a fluke. His English is not good. He also said that racing is always hard and this race was hard but Farah won easy.
He said today I was unlucky, Farah was lucky. In other words it could have been vice versa too.

He did but I doubt English is his first language. So in his mind "lucky" doesn't have the exact meaning us Americans think of it.
Sounds reasonable, he was all props and a good sport about it when he lost a shorter distance earlier this year, probably meant now that this is a happy day for Mo, I don't know Ethiopian but I've been told some languages have very similar words for happy/lucky so it would be a simple translation mistake by someone less than fluent in English.
So, in my opinion, anyone in sub 26:40-26:45 shape would have been a strong competitor.
Considering the CR is 26:46.31 I would have thought that was a given...

What does your statement have to do with mine?
That if someone was aiming to break the CR they would be a strong competitor.

with a level playing field, the USA will be competitive in a few years. Europe is lost though.
Yes, what has happened to Europe? Canada is now ahead of the European countries.

4 Galen Rupp USA 27:24.39 SB $15,000
5 Abera Kuma ETH 27:25.27 $10,000
6 Bedan Karoki Muchiri KEN 27:27.17 $6,000
7 Kenneth Kiprop Kipkemoi KEN 27:28.50 SB $5,000
8 Nguse Amlosom ERI 27:29.21 SB $4,000
Now we know why Galen was looking around, that was a $5,000 crane of the neck or two, lol.
Makes me wish Ritz had finished in mahoney.

So by that logic, say, Prefontaine sucked, right? Since he would have come in somewhere around Levins today . . . with his then-US-record time of 27:43.6. I always though the idea was to win races to get in the championships, which you then, also, WIN.
No, no, no, you've got it wrong. Cam Levin's sucks and ran like a pssy today. Because he should have won. Galen should have won. Ritz should have won, etc.
Wait, only one guy can win? Wait, what?
Everyone in the race is pretty freaking amazing.

No. I said in that SHAPE. They don't necessarily have to run that time.
CR = course record
still battling with "less is more" and less doping in Italy/Spain...

I dated a Danish woman who's name was the Danish word for lucky. Yes, you could say I got lucky.
If you read Foster's biography, he actually defends Viren regarding accusations of blood-doping. That includes a story about training with him, seeing him naked in a sauna, and not seeing evidence of marks from a transfusion.
How do you determine what time someone is in shape to run if they don't run that time?

If you really need someone to explain it to you, then I doubt you will understand the explanation.

I very much doubt that - link please!
I can't find a link but it was on the Eurosport stream. I don't think it was an insult he just meant that he had a good day in 2011 and won and now Farah had a good day in 2013 and won. He really thought that he was going to win and nearly did.
cicvi wrote: The logic isn't that difficult. The people running the 10k in the past 2-3 years are significantly lesser runners. It's not at all as competitive nor as fast. No one even breaks 27 anymore.
Actually, there were six sub-27 runners in the field today.
video anyone?
