No. You have the choice. You can take your mother or your father's nationality, or both.

Now that was an impressive call!
"mo may be in as fast as 3'30 shape", or even 3:29, or maybe my calculator says 3:28...?
not impressive to predict three times. impressive would have been if someone said 3:28.8 and that time alone. covering your bases with 3:28-3:30, stop kissing this guy's ass. he's a jagoff. yes, mo farah is really damn fast and he could run 3:30, or even faster on a perfect day. no duh

Why do you assume Farah is an immigrant? Because he's black?
Cram's comment as Mo finished "And Mo Farah, as I stand and commentate, may well have just broken my British record for 1500 meters"
I assume he's an immigrant because he immigrated to Britain. Is this a trick question?
WHERE IS DEANOUK!!!??
Did ventolin shut you up, or what it Mo Farah embarassing your precious Lord Coe???
We may never hear from him again...
White Americans get upset over any black success in anything, period.
I have been to Britain, have relatives there, the British whites do not have the insecurities that seem to plague white Americans.Interracial dating or
relationship for example,in Britain is no big deal.Whereas here in US,a white woman as much as smile at a black man and white men go bonkers.
They even went absolutely crazy over a Cheerios commercial because it
had a white woman and a black man in it.No,white British don't get upset
at immigrants winning.

No, it's all by blood , and that's it. Many in America are recent immigrants and can call themselves "American', but they're not. there's really no such thing. Generally, you're either Indian, German, Italian, etc., or some combination.
As far as Farah. He's a Somalian living in the UK. So is his family. He may be an British citizen, but he's not British. I don't think the term British can applied that same way American can. It is what it is, and you can make up whatever crap you want.
ventolin, all credit to you for even posting the possibility of a 3:28.8 for Farah, but if you read your own post, you will see that you did not predict this. You said first that he was in 3:30 shape. Then offered two other predictions for mid to upper 3:29 and upper 3:28. So, what you did was to offer a range from 3:28-3:30, still a good range and two or three seconds below what Farah himself publicly predicted beforehand, but not exactly predicting this time within .1 seconds.

ffs -
Mo's father was born in Britain. How can Mo not have British blood?
He and his twin brother were not raised in the Republic of Djibouti, not Somalia.
His brother Omar also lives in England..

How are you British? Aren't you either English or Scottish or Welsh? And how are you really even that, with Celtic roots in Basque country, and with all the raping and pillaging the Romans and the Vikings did, and the Norman conquest, aren't the "British" really a Scandinavian-Italian-Franco-Iberian mutts?

The whites in britain are the royalty. Anyone who's not royalty is in the same boat, poor regardless of ethnicity, and the aristocracy takes what they have.
The u.s. is the same but more subtle, the media stirs up racial issues to divert attention from the irs and the fed, i.e. the aristocracy.

This is a load of crap... and pretty offensive.
Do you get to define what's British? Are you British yourself? Because we may have a different definition or way of looking at things than you, and what you're saying doesn't really tally with how people feel over here.
Bradley Wiggins was born in Belgium. Does that mean we shouldn't be cheering for him? No! No one cares!
Farah grew up in London from when he was 8 years old. He went to primary school here, high school/college here. He went to university here. So he spent approx 22 yrs here... now he's training in the USA.

I meant British collectively. As in English, Scottish, or Welsh. Sure, they all had their different amounts of inter-mixing over the last 2 millenia, but they are defined by what they are at this point. Each of these people are mutts in their own way, but they have been defined by that for already quite some time.

What? Who cares where Wiggins was born. I think it is already defined for you naturally whether you're British or not. I am half British (English). Are you not a person of Welsh, English, or Scottish decent? If not, then you're probably not British. Sure, we can pretend one is, but that may not represent reality.
Sure, Farah is nice chap training in the USA, who is a citizen of Britain, and who happens to be a Somalian.
I know that Venttollin called his time of 3:28. Now to say he could go 3:24? He was beaten soundly by Kiprop yesterday. If he really had another 4 seconds in him, he would have ran it yesterday.

He offers a line of best fit.
It is a range because we do not know exactly what Mo could do in a 400 or 800 unless he lined up for one.
If ventolin did he could plug it in and it would give you a number Mo could expect to run in "perfect" race.
Unless you know his 400/800 ability, the best you can reasonably offer is a range. Most people "predict" by guessing and often these guesses aren't worth much because they're just that, guesses.
Ventolin offers something more reliable and likely. But new information leads to better analysis, like a better indicator of 400m potential, etc.

How long do you need?
Mark Strong was born in London, but his parents are from Austria and Italy. Is he not really British?

If you think the UK is some kind of racially harmonious paradise compared to the US, I suggest you go to a few soccer games over there. The US may have more deep and systemic racial issues, due to the legacy of slavery, jim crow, redlining, etc., but I've never seen the kinds of overt displays of racism in the United States that I've seen in the UK. I've probably heard the N word more times in my few weeks in the UK than I have in my entire life in the US. And I've certainly never heard an American make monkey noises at a black person.
Yeah right ! Those British with all those lynchings, all those black and white
water fountains, all the water hoses and dogs turned on all those blacks.
Don't make me laugh.

Really? What part of England are you in? 1974? I haven't heard it in a soccer ground in 20 years. P@ki yes, the n-word, no.
