Holy shit that was an amazing finish from all three. About 1:50 for last 800. If anybody is going to beat Mo, the pace must be hot.

Do these Ethiopians and their coaches know nothing about the sport, about what has transpired in the last two years?
You can't beat Farah in the last lap. You can beat him by going hard from a mile out, or by running an honest race from the gun.
Yet nobody seems to notice or care. They try the same thing time and again.
Stupidity is repeating the same behavior in the same conditions again and again, and expecting the results to change.
1:51 last 800. Blazing!

Sadly Gebrhiwet and Alamirew just let Farah run exactly how he wanted to.
53.4 to close a 13:14 race is great although not news for Farah.
The only interesting thing about this is that maybe the Ethiopians and Kenyans will FINALLY learn they can't beat Farah in the final 400. Don't know how they haven't learned this yet, but maybe this lesson will help them move before 4600 in Moscow.
1:51.4

Amazing.
This however, might have set up the best 5k race ever in Moscow.
That camera work on the Diamond League feed was awesome. I always loved the rail camera shots that followed the runners on the home stretch, but it looked like they had a camera on a vehicle in the outside lanes for the whole last lap. It seems minor but, that shot, moving with the runners, does huge things for the viewers, especially casual viewers. No other shot shows how fast the runners are moving. You could see every gear change in the final 300m and the expressions and race awareness of the racers.
Last 200 in 25.8 for mo farah. I think he completely negative split a 800 in 1:51:xx wow.

All of these 12:50 guys seem content to keep feeding Farah 13:30-pace set-ups for him to kick off of.
Makes me think Kenyan selectors should forget trials for the 10,000. Just select the three guys with the fastest times in 2012-2013, and tell them they'll never go to another Championships unless they run sub-26:50 in Moscow.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Salad-tosser just can't stand seeing people he hates win, and prove him a loser once again.

We don't know if this is true yet because no one has tried it. At the 2011 pre 10k and monaco 5k, he won in 26:46 and 12:53, which aren't BLAZING fast but are definitely not jogging either. And Mo *has* proved mortal on the last lap, as Jelian showed in Daegu.
Ventolin has argued that Mo's closing ability indicates superior aerobic fitness, whereas this board's presumption is that he's just the best kicker and he couldn't handle ~12:43/26:30 races. To date, we don't know who is right.
Banging last 200 but you have to think they have learned that Farah is not going to be out kicked. The Ethiopians have to work together and make the pace hard. In the 10k they will have 4 guys to trade pacing duties which should be plenty. If they work together they can really make a fast pace without one guy ever doing too much work. I would understand why one man would not want to lead the entire race but when you have 4 men there is no excuse. To beat Farah you are going to have to make him crack before you get to 400 to go.

Every meet should be shot this way.
what are these 12-50 guys capable of right now?
they don't seem to believe they can beat him either way
i'm tired of mo's tactics but that's his winning gameplan
and they letting him do it
Ritz is sitting on the couch in Park City smiling: the east Africans might make it fast in the 10 in Moscow.

I agree with you and hope for Ritz sake that this comes true.

You're right, we don't, but we aren't going to find out unless the Ethiopians make it a fast race against Farah.
I wanna see farah handle a true honest race from the start they let him dictate the pace every single time come on guys your not gunna beat him in a kick!! The ethios and kenyans must realise this by now they gotta take the sting out of his finishing speed.
Remember 2 years ago Farah ran 12.53 with a 53/54 last lap to win in Monaco. I don't buy into the assumption that the Ethiopians can run the kick out of him.
Alamirew actually gave him a good run for his money today.
