Big shakeup on the women's side this weekend. What's your thinking now: 1. Dartmouth, 2. Princeton, 3. Cornell?
Why Princeton over Cornell and Harvard? Princeton was over 150 points out of 9th at pre-nats...doubtful that that distant 10th place is more impressive than 15th (Cornell) and 18th (Harvard) in the more competitive field at Wisconsin. The Princeton spread from 1-5 is 70 seconds. That kind of spread is not a problem if you are Dartmouth and have the best runner in the country but while the top Princeton runner is good, there is no evidence that she's significantly better than Cornell and Harvard's top runners and both those schools have far tighter scoring spreads than Princeton. Heck, my Lions are likely to match up well with Princeton if they run like they did at Paul Short especially with Waverly runner so well. Watch out for them to bounce back in the smaller field
But speaking of Princeton teams, I'm worried that their men will show up like they did last year and give the Columbia men all they can handle. The men's meet should be another battle.
