Too early? Of course not. Cornell again? Most likely.

Princeton men will be legit and a nationally top 10 team in 2013.
Bendtsen

Pons
Owens
Big Red women, Princeton men.
Don't forget Vitez and McDonald who were both top 12 I believe (7 and 12 or so) at Heps last year.
have to keep reminding myself that Abbey D is only a junior

No Cornell women recruits for XC listed on DyeStat?
The Ivy League has never won an individual NCAA XC. Here's my scenario on how they could win the women's race 3 years in a row!
2013- Dartmouth's Abbey D should win this year (barring illness, injury or a super star East African transfer).
2014&15- I think there is a better than 50-50 chance that Mary Cain will go to an Ivy...maybe Princeton. Her Father has said he likes the idea of her running for a couple of years on NCAA teams (he went to Columbia). Academics is a big part of her life so I'll be surprised if she goes to Oregon. So this scenario would give an Ivy League School the best middle distance runner in the country for a couple of years before she turns Pro.

Ahh cross country. Here are my predictions on how the throws will impact this years XC!!!

Seriously, good luck to everyone. back to lurking until recruiting classes are announced...

No Cornell women recruits for *anything* listed, as near as I can tell:
http://parser.dyestat.com/collegepicks.jsp?seasonyear=2013&sort=conference&conference=Ivy+GroupI believe the Cornell women's coaches may have deliberately discouraged their recruits from announcing. Bear in mind that these Ivy-bound athletes are still available (IIRC) for receiving athletic scholarships from non-Ivies, right up until school begins in the fall; Cornell may want to keep all their newcomers in the fold.
In any case, word on the street is that Cornell has recruited *well*, both for men and for women. Maybe not the very best recruiting in the League, but apparently they got quality in (some) quantity, and were able to fill most of their roster holes. (The most glaring of which would be women's throws, now that Imbesi is gone--gonna take a lot to replace her.)
It probably isn't safe to assume Cornell's women dominance quite yet-they lose quite a few and the status of recruits for all schools will be of great importance this year
I'm glad this thread has started, but feel compelled to observe that the track season isn't over yet--Ivy foax will be competing at USA Nationals...
Anyhoo, even though they had serious graduation losses, I'm going to go way out on a limb and predict the Cornell men for a top-half finish at Heps this fall. They seemed to show more competitive fire during this last year, though maybe more so in cross country than in track.
Incoming recruits, even the very top ones (I've heard the Ivies are getting some), rarely seem to make a difference in their first year at Heps xc.

Shazzuy, in all seriousness: your posts are probably the highlight of the t&f threads. Knowledgeable AND fairly neutral posts--in contrast, say, to my tendency toward Cornell boosterism--are in short supply.
But you've got to admit that Cornell's men's throws ARE looking fairly strong for next year...

lol, nice one. Enjoy your hibernation.
Yeah, I won't be of much use until the season starts, and even then, my XC knowledge can always improve since that is not my background. Keeping my eyes on the summer outdoor season for now.
Anyone know if Christie Rutledge will be running for Dartmouth this fall?
Will the Brown Women stand up and be counted?

Thanks for links, and good catch--I hadn't expected D's fall rosters to be up already!
I see that Harvard's recruiting continues to trade on its international cachet. To me this makes eminent sense: if you're one of the world's best-recognized universities, you should use that!
(And this year I hope that people will avoid making snarky comments like "yeah, but they don't develop the talent they get" or "yeah, but they lose a lot of their talent"--comments that, if you actually look at the record, are neither accurate nor fair. PLENTY of Crimson athletes have improved during their time in Cambridge; and, for that matter, EVERY Ivy loses some of its highly-touted recruits. Comments like those I've quoted just come across as motivated by pure envy.)
Interesting class for Dartmouth women. Julie McConville has solid distance creds (one of the best 2 mile times in the country last winter at 10:17 behind Cain, Finn, Frazier and Efraimson) noted elsewhere on HEPS threads. The rumor has been around since last fall that she was going to Dartmouth. McConnell is certainly not as well known but posts a decent 3K at 10:17 exactly one (indoor) lap behind McConville. Cunningham and Grela are both middle distance runners with best times both under 2:15 for 800m. It will be interesting to see if they can contribute at 5 and 6K. Schlachtenhaufen looks like a walk-on. She will have company. Interesting that she made the roster over other legit runners who the casual observer would know are headed to Dartmouth, yet didn't. Coogan may see things we mortals cannot understand. :)

Well, she's a 5:03 1600m runner--not great, maybe, but certainly worth consideration on most Ivy xc squads.
In any event, as far as *others* who are going to Dartmouth but don't appear on the roster: rosters can be updated, and surely will be; and a certain percentage of recruits simply decide not to go out for the team(s), at least not initially.
I'd be surprised if M. Coogan were making cuts at this point...
