The ultimate question: can a serious thread exist on letsrun?
Running has been a pretty serious part of my life thus far and I want it to continue to be. I've managed to have a fairly successful college career (considering what I ran in HS) and would like to continue to train and compete after college (ie road races, maybe even get into some longer half/full marathons). I'd like to be able to consistently log 50+ miles a week, hopefully more after college.
As a rising senior, its about time to think very seriously about what I want to do after graduation. I am still very much torn between going to graduate school with the goal of ultimately becoming a professor and going off to work---likely in a consulting firm--and perhaps later getting an MBA.
So obviously this isn't the only factor I'm considering but I definitely want to know: which one do you guys think I would have the most time to maintain a regular training schedule? Trying to consider the benefits of freedom as a professor with the 5+ years of hell as a graduate student (maybe I'm exaggerating). Is this a stupid question?
For anyone interested, I'm studying Econ and Math, but if I went to grad school it would be in Polisci to study a mix of Formal Theory, IR, Development Econ and Political Economy at probably a Top 15 program
