I run a 4:30 mile now as an incoming senior. I just had an x ray, and my bone age is only 13.5 y. So, I am running in a pre-high school body! How good can I get?

My 18 year old was in a 13.5 year old's body. He went to jail for it.

i lol'd
you'll probably be an olympian with those numbers
**correction, DEFINTIELY be an olympian
but in reality, there are alot of factors involved and though it might have a significant effect on your future times,it also might not
I got the wrist bone scan of an 11 year old when I was 16 (talk about embarrassing) ran a 17:30 5k, 4:52 mi in HS, ended up breaking 27 for 8k, but I also ran twice as much mileage a week, ate healthier, and got more sleep

Good, so your PR is a 17:30 5k, or was that your 16 y time?
Hey just curious, what is the test or x ray called that checks this? I am 20 but feel I have a younger body structure (which is really annoying) and have always been wondering.
Does this cost an expensive amount of money to do? And were your doctors checking for something else when they did this or were you just curious yourself and asked to do it?
I wish I had a bone r age of 13.5 y.
it is about your telomeres - you are probably 18 since you live in the US (?).
I am assuming that it is an x ray that checks the growth plates. My son had one at 16 and he still had a bit of room. He grew from 6'1", 175 pounds to 6'4" and 290 pounds in four years and was an All American football player.
So what's the test called and how much would it cost me to get it done
I've got to ask because i'm curious. How tall are you and how much do you weigh?

I am 5'2, 105 lbs.
Thanks for your responses- but how fast can I get? Thank you for the Olympic status- I'm training very hard for that!

Well, that definitely would not be a correct correction. But then again, no one on the internet seems to be capable of spelling that word correctly. At least you didn't put an 'a' in it, which 99% of people seem to think it has.
