I'm part of a family oriented social group that meets several times a week. The kids in the group have all asked me at some point about my running and each one themselves seems to have some kind of running interest currently or in the past. It's has the potential to be the Bad News Bears of running.
The oldest (5'10" 160 bs) said he completed a marathon at age 12 but only surfs now, one is currently in hs xc (6'1" 135 lbs) another said he only runs once a week (6'0" 130 lbs), one said she was a great runner at 13 but, had an ankle injury and only swims now (5'5" 140), one said she got into running last year but, stopped this year, whatever that means (5'8" 120).
- Is there any reason to try to pique a VERY serious running movement into these kids minds or do they have to get there on their own?
