I've been running twice and three times daily lately. I am a recreational runner but lately I've had the urge to run all the time. Rather than take days off, I just run a lot slower when I'm tired. I guess some people would say I slog, but I do keep my feet moving at a nice cadence. I don't have any injuries as my running is never outside of my limits of comfort except that I am sometimes totally exhausted. I try to keep my form from getting sloppy even when I'm really really tired and ready to collapse.
Is this bad for me? Is there a payoff to training like this? I have been under a lot of stress and I feel that all the running helps. If you want numbers, I am formally a 30mpw runner and lately I've been running 60-70 mpw for the last couple of months. I don't feel like I'm getting any faster but I feel like I could run through a brick wall if I needed to.
How can I begin to work some speed into my running but still be able to run a lot?
