rashid ramzi pulled a similar stunt didn't he
lagat did something similar around 2000 if i recall
i often wondered about that-he dropped right down to 3-26 all of a sudden
and i don't think 3-26 is possible without drugs imo
that's if the data from this thing is accurate
3:26 is impossible? So what is the fastest possible time? And why?
He went out slow and was lapped but ran the last 800 on pure hate to come back for the win!

I laughed.
I'm sorry, I just can't follow this logic.

Yes, and Rupp isn't a miler, so he doesn't run them often each year, whereas this Moroccan clearly is, and Rupp isn't 28. To make a dramatic improvement in your early 20's is expected, but not in late 20's.
Well, Rupp IS in his late 20s. Rupp is turning 27 in about 2 weeks.

well
apparently 3-26 was possible some years back
but now it's not possible for some reason
Yes, that's crazy. It's so obvious. Imagine a guy running the mile between 3:57 and 4:01 for 7 year+ and then all of a sudden, boom he runs a 3:50 mile... Oh wait...
You want to know how that happened? I'll let you know.
I was in Portland a few months ago. I ran into Galen Rupp and asked him how he had progressed so far and become almost a running god amongst mere mortals.
He replied "Pressure makes diamonds." Gave his classic wink and then loped off into the night at a casual 6 minute/mile.

His "classic wink" apparently makes you happy...

That is even more suspicious than that miler guy, given that Rupp is a 10k/5k and out of no where he is gunning for a sub 3:50 INDOOR mile is nuts to me! He is either using something really good or he just have amazing god talent which I doubt!!!
it is a bit odd
i mean he's up there with a lot of specialist indoor milers on the all-time list

Ahh yeah, the "classic wink", Lance had one of those.
The drop is suspicious, but if he is 27 now and he ran 3:41 9 years ago, he ran the equivalent of a sub 4 mile at a high school age.
Running 3:32 now is about where he should be. The real story is what has he been up to for the last 9 years and why has he been unsuccessful at improving?
Was he on the juice when he ran 3:41 at age 18, then went off it, and is now back on it? If he was on it all this time, why didn't it work before?
How crazy would it be if he suddenly emerged as a previously unknown entity at 5k and ran under 12:45?
Track is weird these days...I think this guy seems dirty and yet if he is, he is the most unsuccessful cheater in recent memory...a decade of 3:41s must have been frustrating to live through...why was he still running, aren't there guys better than that in Morocco these days?
He clearly changed something in the way he trains or his lifestyle.
With all due respect, you have no right to claim illegal substances with no evidence at all.
I mean you have "the right" but your opinion has no weight without evidence.
i just put some money on this boy, hoping he pulls a Makhloufi.
However, after his 3.31 in April I can only find one result by him, finishing ninth in 3:37.40 in June? WHAT!
barely scraped through to the semi-finals too, from a point where basically any decent runner should have no problem as there were lots of semi-final spots up for grabs and quite a few non-factors in the heats, including several above four minute runners
